Hike Overview

Let’s enjoy a refreshing post-Thanksgiving hike and give thanks to Mother Nature! 🌿

Join us on Sunday, November 30th as we explore the beautiful trails of Almaden Quicksilver Park. This will be a moderate hike at a steady pace with plenty of scenic views. The route includes some steep climbs and narrow sections, and certain areas may have loose, slippery gravel as well as poisonous plants along the sides of the trail, so good footwear and attention to footing are important. It’s a great workout after Thanksgiving and a wonderful way to reconnect with nature. If you feel ready for a moderate adventure, we’d be happy to have you with us!

Schedule:
We’ll gather at 9:15 am and begin hiking promptly at 9:30 am. Please kindly be on time, as we won’t be able to wait for late arrivals.

Be Prepared

• Wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots.

• Bring 1–2 liters of water to stay hydrated.

• Pack sun and wind protection such as sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a light windbreaker.

• Dress in layers and be prepared to adjust, as weather conditions can change quickly.

• Carry snacks or light energy food to keep your energy up during the hike.

• Parking is free

• The meeting point is the same as the parking lot—once you park, just take a quick look around to find our group

• Restrooms are available near the trailhead

• If your body doesn’t feel fully ready for this hike, please feel free to skip this one and join us on a future outing when it feels right for you

• Dogs are allowed on leash in this park, but based on past experience, we kindly recommend leaving pets at home so everything can go more smoothly for everyone

• This trail is not suitable for baby strollers, wagons, or carts, so we recommend not bringing them

• We may not be able to reply to messages or calls right before the hike, as we’ll be driving, welcoming participants, or in an area with limited reception. We really appreciate your patience and understanding.
