Overview:
The Skyline and Lake Marie Road Loop is a scenic 5.4-mile well-shaded trail nestled in Napa’s beautiful Skyline Wilderness Park. On this hike, we will get panoramic views of Mount Diablo, Mount St. Helena, Mount Tamalpais and the San Francisco Bay. We will begin our hike at the Visitor Parking Lot, just south of the intersection of 4th Ave and Imola Ave in Napa:

We will then head southwest and pass Martha Walker Habitat Garden on our immediate left. As we proceed, we will pass through Lake Camille and see the Park Tent Camp Area on our left. The trail features several ascents and descents and plenty of deer. There are multiple creek crossings along the way. The trail is also home to rattlesnakes, ticks, and wild pigs so watch your step!
0.4 miles into the hike, we will take the right fork (going southwest) to take the Skyline Trail. The trail passes through a disc golf field and an archery range before ascending through the woods. About 3.2 miles into the hike, we will arrive at Lake Marie, where we will be greeted by amazing views of Napa Valley. We can rest by the lake before we continue northwest onto Lake Marie Road. The rest of the path is mostly downhill. At the 5.0 mile mark, we will take the right fork to stay on Lake Marie Road and return to our trailhead.
