Hike Overview:

This hike to Mission Peak begins at the Ohlone College trailhead and follows a well-defined path that steadily climbs through open grasslands and rolling hills. The route is moderately challenging, with gradual switchbacks that offer expanding views of the South Bay as you gain elevation. With today’s pleasant weather and clear conditions, visibility is excellent, making it a great opportunity to take in panoramic views stretching across Fremont, Silicon Valley, and, on especially clear moments, all the way to the San Francisco Bay. The combination of fresh air, open terrain, and iconic scenery makes this hike both rewarding and energizing.

We’ll gather at 8:15 am and begin hiking promptly at 8:30 am.

Be Prepared:

• Wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots
• Bring at least 1.5 liters of water (more if hot)
• Wear sun protection: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
• Pack light layers—wind or cooling at the top is common
• Bring snacks or light energy food
