SUMMARY:Eastern Sierra Tour
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LAWP)\, Nature Bloomers is pleased to offer the fun and educational tour of the Eastern Sierra. Running east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range\, there is a road of superlatives: highest\, lowest\, hottest\, deepest\, oldest – the US Highway 395 passes close by a whole host of -ests. And then there are the ghost towns\, living towns\, hot springs\, tufa formations\, film locations and more. \nYet for all its many attractions\, it’s relatively unexplored\, especially compared to California’s other big name draws. It takes a couple of days to get a good feel for the region so join us on a north-south\, semi-secret\, always spectacular road trip. \nThe Trip: \nYou’ll be exploring the natural features along Highway 395\, including the hot springs\, tufa formations of Mono Lake\, Crowley Lake\, June Lake\, and the ghost town of Bodie. You’ll be learning a lot on this trip including: \n\nThe history of water conflicts in Eastern California and how they are managed\nHow hot springs\, salt lakes\, and fresh water lakes were formed in Eastern Sierra\nThe history of the ghost town and how it got famous\n\nItinerary: \nMay 25th \nCheck in to your rooms \nHanging out in Bridgport town \nDinner  (provided) \nMay 26th \nBreakfast on the way (provided) \nMono Lake \nLunch  (provided) \nCrowley Lake \nGhost Town (If the road is open) \nFull-course dinner  (provided) \nMay 27th \nBreakfast \nCheck out \nBuck Eye Hot Springs \nWhat’s Included? \n\nHotel accommodation with full amenities\nGuided tour of the Eastern Sierra Nevada\nFive courses of meals\nExperienced guides\, certified as Wilderness First Aid Responders\nGroup first aid supplies\nArranging carpooling\, if needed\n\nNote: You’ll be driving your own vehicle to Bridgport.
