Point Pinole has an interesting history. It was once the site of Chinese shrimping villages and was later a center of dynamite manufacturing. After trekking onto the pier\, we will turn right onto Bayview Trail\, which is a slightly uphill dirt and gravel road running along the shoreline. This will lead us back to the paved Bay Trail\, where we turn right\, traverse 3 boardwalks over the marsh and return to the staging area where we began. \n \nParking Lot: \nThere is a $5 fee per vehicle for parking at Point Pinole Park if the kiosk has an attendee. The kiosk accepts cash\, credit cards\, and Tap to Pay. SUMMARY:Discover San Francisco from the Top of Twin Peaks
DESCRIPTION:Event: 268 \nDistance: 4.5 miles \nRoute Type: Loop \nTotal Elevation Gain: 700 ft \nDifficulty: 5 \nGathering location: 37.770355\, -122.443125 \n  \nHike Overview: \nJoin us for a scenic urban adventure as we make our way through the charming streets of San Francisco to one of the city’s most iconic viewpoints: Twin Peaks. This enjoyable hike combines city exploration with breathtaking panoramic views overlooking San Francisco\, the Bay\, and the surrounding hills. We’ll begin with a pleasant walk through local neighborhoods before gradually climbing toward the summit. The route is mostly paved\, making it accessible for most participants\, with only the final quarter-mile consisting of a natural trail leading to the top. Along the way\, we’ll make several short stops to catch our breath\, enjoy the scenery\, and take photographs. Once at the summit\, we’ll spend some time soaking in the spectacular 360-degree views before heading back. We will meet at the gathering location at 9:15 AM and depart promptly at 9:30 AM. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. The climb to Twin Peaks is steady but not overly strenuous. If you are comfortable walking several miles with a gradual uphill incline\, you should have no difficulty enjoying this hike. \n \nParking Lot: \nThere is ample free street parking near the meeting location. However\, parking can become limited later in the morning\, so arriving early is recommended. \nPublic restrooms are available near the summit of Twin Peaks. \nBe Prepared: \nPlease bring: \n\nA light windbreaker or jacket (it is often windy and cooler at the summit)\nAt least 1–1.5 liters of water\nComfortable walking or hiking shoes (sneakers should be perfectly suitable)\nA light snack or fruit\nHat\, sunscreen\, and sunglasses\n\nWe also recommend dressing in layers\, as temperatures at the top can be noticeably cooler than at the start of the hike. \nLegal Disclaimers: \nBy voluntarily participating in this Nature Bloomers event\, you acknowledge that outdoor activities involve inherent risks. You agree to release and hold harmless Nature Bloomers\, its organizers\, hosts\, volunteers\, and participants from any liability\, claims\, demands\, or causes of action arising from your participation in this event.
