We will make our way up Panoramic Hill\, following the beautiful Panoramic Ridge along the Upper Strawberry Canyon Fire Trail to Chaparral Peak. From there\, we’ll descend via the newer fire trail below Grizzly Peak and reconnect with the lower Strawberry Canyon trail. Along the way\, you will enjoy sweeping views of San Francisco\, Oakland\, and the Bay\, surrounded by eucalyptus\, pine\, and oak forests. We’ll meet in the parking lot at 9:30 AM and depart promptly at 9:45 AM.  \n \n\nBe Prepared:\nThis is a moderately challenging to hike\, taking approximately 3.5 hours to complete. Expect a mix of steady climbs\, descents\, and rolling fire roads. The area is popular with hikers\, runners\, and birdwatchers\, so we’ll likely encounter others on the trail. Dogs are welcome\, and some sections allow off-leash activity. Please wear layered clothing\, sturdy hiking shoes\, and bring sunscreen\, water\, snacks\, and a positive attitude. \n\nParking:\nParking is available on Stonewall and Tanglewood Drives\, but spaces are limited\, especially on weekends. \nCarpooling is strongly encouraged. Additional unrestricted parking can be found along the east side of Claremont Ave (south of Route 13/Ashby). This 4.5-mile hike starts at the Skyline Gate Staging Area and forms a loop along the Stream\, West Ridge\, and French Trails—a route renowned for its redwood groves\, soft terrain\, and moderate elevation profile. The hike begins by descending through a shaded redwood forest along West Ridge Trail\, before connecting with French Trail\, and then ascending to our trailhead with Stream. This loop offers a bit of everything: towering trees\, gently rolling paths\, views of nearby mountains and a tranquil\, immersive natural experience. We will meet at the pinned location at 9:15 AM and depart promptly at 9:30 AM. \n \nParking Lot: \nReinhardt Redwood Regional Park has multiple parking lots\, but we will park at the Skyline Gate Staging Area\, which is available off Skyline Boulevard. This is the parking area closest to our trailhead. Restrooms are available in the parking lot.
