The combination of lakes\, forests\, and rocky plain makes this hike a really gorgeous one. Now\, let’s pack up and hike the Mount. Tallac. ⛰😀nThis route is generally considered a challenging one\, but don’t be discouraged. There are multiple resting points that we’ll come across along the way with views of lakes and wildflowers. These lakes are great spots to take a dip at and to relax. The last third of the trail starts to become rockier (well placed stones)\, but it’s definitely worth it with the gorgeous 360 degree views of a lot of lakes from the summit\, where you feel like you are on top of the world!nn**Parking information:** Please make sure you’ll carpool\, and get there by the latest 9:30 am to allow time for parking and getting a free permit on site. Starting from the floor of the Valley\, we’ll attempt to summit Yosemite’s most iconic and awe-inspiring landmark: Half Dome! It’s not an easy journey to get to the 8\,836 foot summit\, but we’ll be rewarded with unparalleled views. This trip has been a Yosemite classic ever since its first ascent in 1875. Since then\, thousands of individuals have made the trek. This trip is on every High Sierra hiker’s to-do list\, and for good reason. Experience the ultimate Yosemite adventure! \nOn this three day event\, we’ll be exploring the park\, hiking the Half Dome\, learn about unique features of Yosemite\, and will boost our mental health via nature wandring in the Yosemite National Park. \nTo join the event\, you are NOT required to hike the half dome on Thursday. Instead\, you can explore the valley and the falls. If you plan to hike the half dome\, you should be physically fit. Hiking the Half Dome is on a first come first served basis. \nDay 1 \nIf hiking the Half Dome: \nDistance: 17 miles (22.7 km) roundtrip via the Mist Trail \nElevation: 8\,836 ft (2\,694 m) \nDifficulty: Strenuous \nTime: 10-14 hours \nBegin at: Happy Isles via the Mist Trail \nFeatures: – Rises nearly 4\,800 ft above Yosemite Valley – The Half Dome Cable Route – Ultimate Yosemite Day Hike – John Muir Trail round trip 16.5 Miles – Astonishing Views from the Half Dome hike \nIf NOT: \nYou have the choices of exploring the valley\, such as Vernal Fall\, Nevada Fall\, Tunnel View spot\, Yosemite Wilderness center and the museum. Also\, you can join the Half Dome hikers up to the top of the falls\, approximately 7 miles. \nDay 2 \nExploring the city of Groveland. The city offeres a lot of activities and access to facilities for the residents. We will be picnicking along the Pine Moutain Lake Marina. At the lake you have the option of swimming\, kayaking\, stand up paddling\, etc. \nThe Trip: \nEverybody will be arriving to the cabin in Groveland by 9:00 pm\, Wednesday 7/27. We will head out by 4:30 am on Thursday 7/28 and will gather in Yosemite Valley at the Happy Isles trailhead at 5:45 am. \nAfter introductions\, packing up our gear and lacing up our boots\, we will hike up the Mist Trail to Little Yosemite Valley. Even though the literal high point of the trip does not come until we reach Half Dome\, the trail past Vernal and Nevada Falls on our way is simply incredible. Please note that our access to the submit may be denied due to thunderstorms\, rains\, etc. If all goes well\, we should be back down by 7:30 pm. \nAfter the hike\, we’ll be heading back to the cabin\, equipped with an outdoor hot tub and barbecue stand\, to revive. \nOn Friday we will be hanging out in Groveland. The city offers lots of activity such as tennis playing\, golfing\, kayaking\, swimming in the lake and pools only for the residents of the city. We will be checking out on Saturday morning 7/30. \nFood and meals will be discussed among the final list of attendees a week or two before the event in a Zoom meeting. \nWhat’s Included: \n\n\n\nExperienced guides\, certified as Wilderness First Aid Responders \n\n\nLodging in a cabin with hot tub and BBQ \n\n\nCar entrance fee to Groveland and parking ($40/car) \n\n\nHalf Dome Cables permits (if you decide to hike the half dome) \n\n\nYosemite entrance permit (not the entrance fee\, but the permit which is needed from May to October to enter Yosemite) \n\n\nGroup first aid supplies \n\n\nGuided backpacking \n\n\nA group chat so you can arrange rides to the trip \n\n\n\nYou’ll need to bring: \n\n\n\nClothes appropriate for the weather (will be discussed in the Zoom meeting). \n\n\nAppropriate footwear to hike throughout the day \n\n\nA gallon of water (hydrating bladder is recommonded) \n\n\nPoles \n\n\nPark entrance fee ($35) per vehicle (not included in trip pricing) \n\n\n\nPricing: \n$265 per person for Half Dome Hikers \n$205 if you do not plan to hike the Half Dome
