It is a day for people to go outside and enjoy nature\, typically by having a picnic with friends and family.nnIn Persian culture\, it is believed that spending the thirteenth day outdoors will bring good luck and ward off bad luck for the rest of the year. The park is located in the picturesque Santa Teresa Hills\, this park boasts over 4\,000 acres of rolling hills\, lush forests\, and scenic reservoirs. As you hike\, you will come across several wildlife species\, including deer\, rabbits\, and coyotes. Hiking in Calero County Park is an experience that will leave you refreshed\, rejuvenated\, and in awe of the natural beauty of this hidden gem in San Jose. Our journey will commence by ascending Panoramic Hill from the Claremont Hotel\, along the picturesque Panoramic Ridge via the Upper Strawberry Canyon Fire Trail\, leading to Chaparral Peak. From there\, we’ll make our way down the new fire trail below Grizzly Peak to the lower Strawberry Canyon trail. This hike will showcase stunning views of San Francisco\, Oakland\, and the Bay\, set against a backdrop of eucalyptus\, pine\, and oak forests. We’ll be meeting at the parking lot at 9:30 am and departing promptly at 9:45. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable adventure!nn**Be Prepared:**nYou can expect to come across other people while exploring the area\, as it is a popular spot for birding\, hiking\, and running. You are welcome to bring your dogs along\, and they can be off-leash in certain areas. Please wear layered clothing\, sturdy and comfortable hiking shoes/boots\, sunscreen and/or hat. Bring snacks\, plenty of water\, and a good attitude!nn**Parking:**nAlthough parking is available on Stonewall and Tanglewood Drives\, spaces are limited\, and weekends can be particularly crowded. You’ll be also learning about the rivers flowing through the valley\, geology and the history of the valley\, and glaciers in the Yosemite National Park. Finally\, you’ll be experiencing mindfulness walks on the Evergreen site. \nTo join the event\, you are NOT required to join the hike to the top of the falls.
