Let’s meet up for a green exercise and go on a Wellness Hike with a lot of good news and laughter to share. The town of Portola Valley is a runner’s and hiker’s paradise\, with as many miles of trails as there are paved roads. The trails are interwoven throughout the town\, connecting to residential streets.nn**Note** 📝nWe willl be hosting Brian Schmidt\, the executive director of Menlo Spark’s\, who is leading work to achieve climate neutrality in Menlo Park by 2030. He is an environmental lawyer with many years’ experience in environmental policy research\, development\, and advocacy. He has led on environmental protection policies in the San Francisco Bay Area with a strong emphasis on climate change issues\, including leading the policy advocacy at Green Foothills and Greenbelt Alliance. Brian has also been elected to office at two water district boards – Santa Clara Valley Water District and Mid-Peninsula Water District. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary political science\, economics\, and philosophy from Georgetown University and a law degree from Stanford Law School\, and is a member of the California and Oregon State Bar Associations.nn**Be Prepared**nWe willl be treating you with hot water and coffee if you are early 🙂nThere is a chance of light rain!! Following a dirt road\, and upon reaching the end of the road\, we’ll pass through a metal gate and climb a hill\, emerging into a grassy meadow with a cattle crossing. From there\, a trail leads us through a wooded area\, exiting at a great swimming hole nestled along the creek. We’ll continue along the trail\, hugging the creek’s edge as we ascend a hill. Climbing over the rocks\, we’ll reach the overlook for Beale Falls.
