Our journey begins with an ascent up Spring Ridge\, followed by a descent through Hamms Gulch. Along the way\, we’ll traverse scrublands adorned with vibrant wildflowers and lush forests\, complete with a picturesque creek crossing. Be prepared to be captivated by breathtaking views of the Bay throughout the hike. We’ll gather at the parking lot at 9:00 am\, with our adventure commencing promptly at 9:15. Don’t miss this opportunity for an unforgettable outdoor experience!nn**Be Prepared:**nThis moderately challenging hike typically takes around 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete. Expect to encounter other visitors\, as it’s a popular destination for birdwatching\, hiking\, and running. While dogs are allowed\, they must be kept on a leash. **Be sure to bring extra layers\, as it can get windy at the top**. Wear sturdy and comfortable hiking shoes or boots\, apply sunscreen\, and consider wearing a hat. She’ll be educating us on mental health and how climate change may affect it. If not\, join us for this event! What’s special about this hike is walking through the bushes along the trail. The park is the site of over 135 years of mining activities and former home to more than 1\,800 miners and their families. And then there are the ghost towns\, living towns\, hot springs\, tufa formations\, film locations and more. \nYet for all its many attractions\, it’s relatively unexplored\, especially compared to California’s other big name draws. It takes a couple of days to get a good feel for the region so join us on a north-south\, semi-secret\, always spectacular road trip. \nThe Trip: \nYou’ll be exploring the natural features along Highway 395\, including the hot springs\, tufa formations of Mono Lake\, Crowley Lake\, June Lake\, and the ghost town of Bodie.
